Evolution of women in advertisements and in magazines from the early 20th century till modern time. The image of women has undergone many transformations in advertisements and in magazines. However from my findings many still are centered on the idea of being a sex symbol, and also are still seen as being dominated by men for many reasons like for the male’s pleasure and gaze. Women mostly young women now suffer from altered and false images of what women look like in advertisements and in magazines. However, as a society we are still far away from equality in the media and although not much has changed from the early 20th century we need to keep in mind that the sole purpose of images is to sell products.
